Entry #1 Blogs review

My personal opinion on blogs is uncertain, mainly cause the first thing I think of are personal blogs of people I truly don't know or even care for. But there are some blogs that are more professional or more informative to the readers which I personally enjoy depending on the topic.

Gary Vaynerchuck Blog

The first blog I chose to review was Gary Vaynerchuck. There are many goals that Gary has for this blog that you can see through out. One think he writes about is self betterment both in life and as an entrepreneur, he also has some personal aspects throughout both in his life story and how he became a successful entrepreneur after immigrating to the United States. My personal favorite aspect of his blog is that he dives into either new startups or the next big investment craze like sports cards and NFT'S and explains them to the reader so they can understand what and how they grow in popularity and value.

My first impression on how the blog is formatted was that it was kind of flashy and bold yet also pleasing on the eyes and easy for readers to maneuver through. Has many sub links to different sections and articles to browse. Also has his social media links on the bottom of the page making it easy for his audience to follow him. The only main thing i found that I disliked was that  most of his blogs were about twenty minutes each to read which I personally feel is to long.

This blog had me interested from the beginning as i enjoy learning about other's personal success stories, and the advice that they give to others. The inside knowledge that he offered on rising projects and other investment opportunities was also a plus. The layout was easy to use and pleasing to the readers eyes. I think this blog is very helpful for any business type person or anyone wanting to learn from an expert.

Huffington Post

The third and final blog i reviewed was the Huffington Post. This is an informative blog with the purpose to inform their audience on world news, entertainment news, and politics. My personal favorite aspect of this blog is the vast amount of articles they have on numerous different topics. The only main problem I had with this blog was the amount of ads that they displayed as well as all the "click bait" news articles on the side.

The format was excellent easy to follow it has the top articles right at the top, and at the bottom it has other suggested articles to view. It also has a great menu at the sop with all the other categories of articles they have. The only problem with the format was the amount of ads displayed all at once.

This blog would be perfect for anyone wanting to keep up to date on current events happening around the world both i politics as well as celebrity news. The only reason why some readers might not enjoy this blog is due to the amount of ads but other than that the format and layout is flawless.

Yahoo Sports

The last blog that I chose was Yahoo Sports. This is a professional blog that's purpose is to cover and display every sport and daily scores, also displays fantasy points as well as a sportsbook that shows odds and predictions on games.

I personally enjoyed this blog at first as I like following multiple sports and players until I saw the layout. The format for this blog in my opinion is a little to cluttered with the scores, news, promotions, and other headlines. The one plus that I did like for the formating was the menu at the top that had the sports section, a finance section, as well as an entertainment section. Other than the countless ads and scores this blog doesn't have much else to offer to their readers.

The main reason why I clicked on this blog was to view the scores and the other sports news but was sad to see the countless ads and other distracting headlines on the page. There was also not as many sport stories as i expected there to be. Unless you are a huge sportsfan, play fantasy sports, or bet on games there really isn't any reason to view this page and the amount of ads definitely will deter some readers.

To end, this entry definitely changed my view on blogs in the way that there are more then just personal "what I ate for dinner" blogs. Showed me that anyone that publishes or produces information is technically a blog but for used for the purpose of informing others of important or interesting topics.

  1. Hey Kyle, I feel where you're coming from about your feelings towards blogs, I too don't care about the personal ones too much, but the informational ones or professional ones are interesting. Believe it or not I actually checkout the yahoo one a lot of the time because like you explained in your post, it can be used to checkout sports and scores which I use.

  2. I've also seen that too many ads can drive someone away, especially me. I really like the Gary Vaynerchuck blog as well. It is very informative on entrepreneur news, just as you said. Thank you for telling me about it, because I will be reading this blog now too. Like Xavier posted, I too am not a fan of personal blogs, but ones that have useful information, I could read for hours.
